[ Freshwater Fishing
]
 Kanchanaburi is the capital of freshwater fishing of the country. The
dam reservoir and its numerous tributaries in the jungle area are the
true anglers' happy hunting ground of this world. A favorite resort for
savvy anglers is at Phae Nam Jone River Huts, a two-hour boat ride from
Sri Nakharin Dam. A valley now submerged under the damwater near the
resort , provides the best fishing spot in the country.

 Kanchanaburi is overrun with golf courses. Last count there were
over 20 in the province. The birdie hunters can choose from beautifully
landscaped courses on the windy plain, not far from Bangkok for a
one-day game for golfers from the city, or the cool, jungle-surrounded,
hilly courses further out. For those who are staying in Kanchanaburi,
the four outstanding courses are :

Phutoey, the most scenic course, 80 kms out on the highway to Sai
Yoke Waterfalls; Mission Hill club, designed by Jack Nicklaus at
